This webinar provides an overview of the development and structure of the ARN Competency Model for professional rehabilitation nursing, highlighting its four key domains and offering guidance on how to apply the model in clinical practice.

Presenters

Dr. Stephanie Vaughn is a rehabilitation nurse and Professor Emeritus with extensive experience in acute rehabilitation and a research focus on stroke prevention and post-stroke care in the Latino population. A dedicated member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses for over 40 years, she has served in multiple leadership roles, including ARN President, and contributed to the development of both national and international rehabilitation competency frameworks. In her clinical role, she has led educational initiatives, developed caregiver resources, and supported community outreach for stroke survivors and their families.

Jill Rye is the Clinical Nurse Leader on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Avera McKennan Hospital. She received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in nursing from Augustana University and a DNP in Executive Leadership from American Sentinel University.  She is a past member of the BOD, Chair of the CEPU committee and Past -President of ARN.
